Siddhartha's intent is under the guidance of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.

We pray with full hearts that Rinpoche may visit South Africa soon. Emaho! (How wonderful!)

SIDDHARTHA’S INTENT

Siddhartha’s Intent (SI) is an international collective of Buddhist centers that began in Australia in 1986 with the formation of Siddhartha’s Intent Southern Door. SI has since expanded with centers in the United States (SI Western Door), India, Canada (SI International), Germany (SI Germany), Hong Kong (SI Hong Kong), and Taipei. All are officially registered in their respective countries as churches, societies, or charities founded with the sole intention of preserving and fostering the Buddhadharma. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche defined Siddhartha’s Intent as a “monastery without walls.” All of the centers organize teachings and seminars, and wish to create a suitable environment in which the teachings of the Buddhadharma may flourish. Each independent SI organization strives to fulfill Rinpoche’s intentions in unique way: SI International produces and distributes recorded teachings and provides support for Sea-to-Sky Retreat Center; SI India houses White Lotus Charitable Trust, Yashodhara Publications (a publisher of Tibetan texts) and Yana Tours (a coordinator of pilgrimages throughout Asia) and is the primary hub of the international Peace Vase Project; SI Southern Door supports Vajradhara Gompa, publishes the Gentle Voice newsletter and is affiliated with Buddha Down Under, a newly-formed Buddhist group in New Zealand; SI Taipei coordinates Khyentse Rinpoche’s teachings in Taiwan and maintains a practice center for the sangha. The SI organizations are bound together by the intention to preserve the Buddhist teachings; the achievement of this aim will increase the awareness and understanding of Buddhist principles, surpassing the limits of cultures and traditions.www.siddharthasintent.org
